José Acevedo, president of the Colombian Skating Federation, took advantage of the presence in Colombia of the director of the technical commission for figure skating of the World Skate (International Skating Federation), the Italian Nicola Genchi, to talk about all the technical details that they will have at the 2023 World Artistic Championship in Ibagué, Tolima, which will be held between September 17 and 30.
According to the Colombian leader, this was the first meeting with the chairman, the highest artistic skating authority in the world, and was focused on the technical part of the world championships. “We began to specify everything related to the call for the judges who will attend from different parts of the world, the formation of the technical commission that will be held in this world cup, the travel dates of these people, and the competition schedules that they will have”, explained President Acevedo.
Another of the points discussed revolved around the surface that will be used for the 2023 World Artistic Championship, which will take place in the “Coliseo Mayor del Parque Deportivo” in the capital of Tolima. “According to the dialogues that I had in recent days with the mayor of Ibagué, Andrés Fabián Hurtado, and the governor of Tolima, Ricardo Orozco Valero, this stage will be inaugurated with the artistic world championships, and the coliseum will have an area suitable for the development of the event. The information on the material on that floor was what I transferred to Nicola”, assured the president of Fedepatín.
