The Colombian Skating Federation is carrying out all the work for the synthetic coating of the the Coliseo Mayor of the Ibagué Municipal Sports Park, headquarters of the Ibagué-Tolima World Artistic Skating Championship 2023.
The surface of the competition area is one of the key and final aspects in the scenario, whose main objective is to generate good elasticity, optimal resistance and a high degree of adhesion for the activity of the participants of this world championship.
José Acevedo, president of the Colombian Skating Federation, highlighted that these work to cover the rink, which is a requirement of the World Skate (International Skating Federation), will be one of the contributions that the World Championship will to the region’s sports community. “The Coliseo Mayor will have an optimal surface, with all the technical standards required by the highest authority in world skating, and it will be one of the contributions that the World Championship will leave for the region’s sports community. A contribution from the organization to the entire sports community in the region who will later benefit from a space for the development of figure skating and other sports that can be performed on this synthetic,” highlighted the president of Fedepatín.
It is worth highlighting that the surface that the stage will have, absorbs kinetic energy, determining the reduction of physical effort, performance comfort and a low level of traumatic impact, something fundamental in artistic skating events.
“We are preparing to receive all the delegations that are going to visit the city. With the application of this material, this will allow the event to be developed with greater guarantees,” highlighted Juan Sebastián Fonseca, manager of IMDRI.
The Musical Capital maintains great expectations regarding the countdown to what will be the start, starting this September 19, of the competitions of the Ibagué 2023 World Artistic Skating Championships.
