The organizing committee of the 2023 World artistic Championships is advancing at a good pace at its official headquarters; Ibague, Tolima. This was announced after the technical visit made by the president of the Colombian Skating Federation, José Acevedo, who together with the municipal and departmental authorities arranged important details regarding this event.
The highest authority of Colombian skating assured that the commitment and responsibility of those in charge of the administration of the city and the department must be highlighted: “The mayor of Ibagué, the engineer Andrés Hurtado, has spared no efforts and resources to complete the construction of the “Coliseo Mayor” of the capital of Tolima. He appropriated all the resources and provided all the technical and human material for us to observe an advanced work. Very soon we will have a beautiful setting for the World Championship”.
Regarding the government of Tolima, the president of Fedepatín affirmed that: “Dr. Ricardo Orozco has also given all his effort, dedication and institutional support to the Colombian Skating Federation for the organization of this event. Without a doubt, the appropriate resources from the mayor’s office and the governor’s office, specifically earmarked for the organization of the event, will be distributed and invested in accordance with official regulations and budgets, as has always been done”.
During the tour of the venue that will host the world championship, located in the “Parque Deportivo Municipal”, it was possible to see the progress of the work, which according to the work plan is at 80%, and the finishing touches and the roof are still to be completed, with a delivery date of mid-July.
The manager of the Municipal Institute for Sports and Recreation of Ibagué, IMDRI, Juan Sebastián Fonseca, affirmed that hosting this World Championship is a great joy for the city: “having this second World Cup in a short period of time, in two different venues, it is something historic for Ibagué and for Tolima. It is something that our mayor Andrés Hurtado has been betting on, putting his grain of sand so that these events, which are held in the city, bring with them an important reactivation in economic, tourist and commercial matters. From the institute we are fully committed to the organization and we are working on everything required to make this event a reality between September 17 and 30.”
