Sunday was a magical night for Colombian and Italian Artistic skating, due to in the definition of the medals in the couple’s modality, both in dance and high, their flags flew at the top, making their hymns sound in of the Great Colosseum.
The day began Colombian tricolor, the Colombian flag, raised Jeshua Folleco and Maria Paula Muñoz, in imponent presentation, full of artistic display and loaded with defined technical elements that at the end, after performing their free dance presentation, allowed them award with the gold medal.
Stand out the rating of 132.14 will remain in the historical history of artistic skating in the world, as it served for an American pair won for the first time a gold medal in the modality of couples, dominated until today by the European delegations. Regarding the second and third place went to the Portuguese delegations, composed of Diogo Carvalho and Ema Sousa, with the silver, and Diogo Ferreira next to Mariana Pinheiro, with the bronze.
The imposing Italian couple appeared to land strongly, almost without allowing the entry of new delegations. In senior dance, the podium spoke Italian language. Gherardo Altiero and Roberta Sasso (159.86) got the gold; Nicholas Masiero and Martina Nuti (154.83) were silver medals; while Raoul Allegranti and Caterina Artoni (143.06) were bronze.
Mindfull in the complex and difficult modality of high couples, the azzurro anthem sounded strongly again, due to both in junior and senior, their representatives were put in the drawer with the number 1. Initially, in the junior, the pair formed by José Inglese and Matilda Matteucci fulfilled an excellent presentation to win the gold with a 133,64; leaving the silver for his compatriots Manuel Cioni and Anna Serafini, who added 124,31; then closing the podium Argentines Gastón Cuello and Julieta Cuvertino, with a rating of 75.43.
Finally in the senior category, the Italians closed awesome night, that allowed them to assume the leadership of the medal table, overcoming Portugal, which had had a dream start by adding 3 of four medals exposed in the individual dance modality, on the third night of competition.
The italing got the third gold were the couple formed by Federico Rossi and Alice Esposito, who obtain a very important qualification, with 205 points, adding short and long program artistic that speaks of the number of variants added to the elements, allowing grades to improve.
The exciting podium was completed by Tommaso Cortini and Micol Mills (186,50), for silver, as well as Alessandro Bozzini and Alice Piazzi, (177,49), in third place and bronze medal. These results of the fifth day of competition, the Italian delegation lead the medal table with 5 gold, 6 silver and 5 bronze, over Portugal that got 3 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze, and Colombia is third with 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze.
According to the program this Monday, September 25, the doors of the coliseo mayor of Ibague will open from 10:00am for official training for athletes of the Free modality in junior category. These will begin competitions in the short program at 3:15pm, in ladies, and from 7:05pm for men.
Important to stand out that entrance of Coliseo is free then no need the ticket of inside, neither for official training neither for competitions.
