Ibagué, capital of Tolima, is consolidated in the last four years in the ‘Sports City’ of the Colombia, and it’s all due to the organization of national, panamericans and world events in speed skating, and now it is added the Artistic Skating World Championships that will be celebrated from 19 to 30 September at the Coliseo Mayor.

In such manner, Colombia will carry out its sixth Artistic Skating World  Championships in the history, and this time Ibagué will be host the 67th edition for the senior category and 28 for the junior.

“This is our new international championship that organizes and heads of in this Administration, are two panamericans and two world championships, And this has really produced important things in the city in matters of sports and also economic field,” said José Acevedo, President of the Colombian Skating Federation.

We stand out that Bogotá hosted this event on three occasions (1980-1986-1998), Girón (1995) and Cali (2015) once each; however, Acevedo emphasized that: “is a capital privileged, due to that hardly any city in Colombia or in the world can do two global events in two years”.
